Beauty Product Love: RMS “UN” COVER-UP

PRODUCT WE REALLY LOVE: "UN" Cover-Up by RMS has been a consistent 'green beauty' editor favorite. It is a foundation/concealer multi-tasker with build-able coverage. Its hydrating formula is a rich and creamy consistency that comes in seven shades and is said to work with all skin types.

The 411 on RMS "UN" COVER-UP

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THE TEXTURE: I've been experimenting with "Un" Cover-up for a bit, and I must say that I am loving it. The texture works really well for my skin. I make sure to moisturize well before I apply it so that it goes on smoothly and doesn't settle into my lines. Using clean fingers, I pat a bit under my eyes and over any areas of discoloration. The shade (22) is perfect for my skin and blends right in. I love that it looks extremely natural. It settles nicely into freshly moisturized skin and doesn't look obvious in the least bit.  It is a balm with the natural-looking dewy finish expected from a coconut oil based product.

It is definitely gives a moderately pigmented finish that is made to brighten rather than cover up . The RMS beauty line considers its cosmetics "skincare with mineral color."  The "Un" Cover-Up is more of an enhancer for achieving healthier looking skin and not provide full-coverage color correction.

WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THE COVERAGE: It is a pretty versatile little pot, it can be used as a light foundation or a brightening concealer. It can be used around the nose to reduce the appearance of pores, to cover slight imperfections and to neutralize redness. I pat a bit over my chin and nose, but because of my "combination skin" it tends to be shiny. A bit of powder corrected that. I used a bit of Mario Badescu Special Healing Powder on my T-zone to keep my oil-prone areas under control but still have some coverage. I choose not to wear foundation because I don't like the look or feel of it on me, but I do love this stuff... it looks like skin. It is something simple and versitle I can use to even out my skin tone, and finish with a tinted lip balm and mascara. It lasts several hours and is a great staple item.

OVERALL: it gives an effortless, natural look with an enhancing effect.

Fragrance free, gluten free, and made with certified organic ingredients, "Un" Cover-up has an EWG Score of 1 and comes in attractive biodegradable/recyclable packaging in a compact, easy to travel with size. This little pot lives up to the hype for me ;)
