Daily Ritual was created to share Ayurvedic practices, self-care and holistic beauty rituals that are easy to incorporate into everyday life.
Why Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is known as the "science of life" and is one of the world’s first comprehensive medical sciences. I decided to embark on becoming a practitioner of Ayurveda to share its power and ability to drive you toward infinite potential. It is the basis for which I create and maintain positive health. Western interest in eastern practices has created an increased demand for translations of works and manuscripts from the original Sanskrit to English and many other languages. This has led to an increased interest in research of, followed by an acceptance and now embrace of Ayurvedic practices in the clinical space.
What is Ayurveda?
Ayurveda is an essential aspect of a complete yoga practice. It is traditionally considered the “Sister Science of Yoga” and the word Ayurveda itself is a Sanskrit word I translate as “The Comprehension of Life.” Ayurveda’s aim is to understand what leads to states of imbalance and conditions of dis-ease in any and all aspects of an individual from the physical, mental, to the emotional and spiritual. It helps identify aspects in life that may feel under-fulfilled or far away from the core of what we know we can create from this particular life.
How is Ayurveda practiced?
Ayurvedic practice is based on daily rituals or building up of sequential lifestyle observances that cumulatively lead you in the direction of your full health potential. Emphasis is on respect for the individual when developing a lifestyle protocol. Protocols are created in consideration for the holistic reality of every day life along with the incorporation of natural treatments for the prevention or reduction of disease and the promotion of health. Most significantly of all, Ayurveda presents a sustainable approach that empowers practitioners to take responsibility for their own well-being. Ayurveda is not a licensed health care practice in the US and is not used to diagnose or treat disease but rather support health and manage disease progression. Ayurvedic assessments, treatments and therapies can help inform lifestyle decisions in conversation and collaboration with doctors and other healthcare professionals.
